Australian TV Appearances The first time the Stereophonics featured on Australian TV was on Ground Zero (Channel 10) at the end of 1997. Kelly spoke over the phone from the UK to the presenter Jade Gadd(?) and talked about the band, their then current single 'Local Boy In Photograph'. Other Appearances: April 1998. Appeared on 'Hey Hey It's Saturday' and they played the rocking track 'A Thousand Trees'.
April 1998. Appeared on the TV show 'Recovery' where they played two songs - 'A Thousand Trees' and 'Local Boy In A Photograph'. They also did a very funny interview with presenter Dylan Lewis.
April 1998. They appeared twice on 'Channel V' in 1998, both in the form of interviews. One with the man himself Molly Meldrum on 'The Drum' and the other with Nathan Harvey on 'The Buzz'.
April 1998. Although not a TV appearance, they featured on youth radio station 'Triple J' on the 'Request Show' where they were interviewed and played an acoustic version of 'Local Boy In A Photograph'.
Time unknown. Appeared on 'E! News' and was interviewed by Nick Bennett and all three members talked about the imminent release of 'Performance and Cocktails'.
October 1999. 'Channel V' went on location for the shooting of their 'Hurry Up And Wait' video which was shot in Sydney for the show 'The Buzz'.
October 1999. Performed 'Pick A Part That's New' on 'Hey Hey It's Saturday'.
October 1999. Appeared on the '10:30 Slot' and performed two tracks 'Wouldn't Believe Your Radio' and 'The Bartender And The Thief' with a short interview inbetween.
October 1999. On 'Ground Zero' Kelly and Richard played a mesmerising acoustic version of 'Traffic', which was preceded by an interview.
June 2001 They appeared on Channel [V]'s show 'The Informer'. The interview went for about 5 minutes and was about their new album and then current single 'Mr. Writer'. |
